About Us
The international community significantly promotes green hydrogen energy to achieve the goal of net zero carbon emissions. Since the forest of the entire Taiwan island is insufficient to achieve carbon neutrality, it is necessary to use large-scale artificial technology to neutralize carbon emissions. However, due to the high cost of the current green hydrogen, developing new technology with a cheaper cost is needed. In addition, using green hydrogen to recycle CO2 as renewable fuels or chemicals is an ideal approach toward negative carbon emissions. Therefore, the two major tasks of the Green Hydrogen Research Center of National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) are: first, to realize large-scale green hydrogen production, and second, to recycle and reuse carbon dioxide into high-value chemicals. This means providing comprehensive technical energy for future negative carbon emission technology and cooperating with professional representatives for the development of related industries in the future.
